High School Diploma

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA REQUIREMENTS

Students working toward a high school diploma must be interviewed by a Chaffey Adult School counselor prior to enrollment in classes. Students should see a counselor at least once each semester until graduation requirements are completed. Please call 9099837102 to speak with a counselor.

High School diplomas are granted to students who successfully complete the requirements of the Adult School (please see brochure or video). Students must also meet a residency requirement by completing a minimum of 10 semester units of credit in the Chaffey Adult School program. Transcript evaluation of previous high school work by CAS staff determines credit. Credit may also be granted for other coursework, work experience and military service.

All high school classes are available at no charge. We offer two modes of obtaining your high school diploma. Most students learn best when receiving direct instruction from a teacher in either a virtual or traditional classroom. Quality online/distance-learning options are accessible to students who prefer this way of learning or whose work, childcare needs, or other barriers exist. All high school diploma classes begin the week of August 14, 2023.

The two available modes of learning are:

Teacher-Directed High School Subject Classes-

These classes are semester-based and offer teacher-led instruction using curriculum aligned with the State’s standards in a traditional Classes meet either in person at the 5th St. campus or online via Zoom.

Teacher-Guided Computer Study Labs

Students enrolled will be assigned a teacher who will provide an orientation, course access (log-in/password) and software navigation information. The teacher will monitor coursework, assignments and activities, proctor exams, and manage the pace of student progress. Students will progress through the coursework from home or school lab while consistently meeting with the teacher to complete course requirements

The assigned teacher is available during weekly lab/office hours to assist students, monitor progress, and supervise exams, including the final exam. For those instances when students are unable to meet with their assigned teacher, additional lab hours are available for students to receive assistance and complete course/program requirements.

In order to remain enrolled and earn credit in the program, students must: communicate with the counselor, maintain contact with the teacher, advance toward course completion, complete required activities, and complete exams the presence of the teacher. In order to progress or continue in the program, additional assessments are required.

Note:  Students are required to have in-person/on campus obligations. Students must have access to local transportation.
Schedule: Teacher and lab information will be provided at enrollment and during a mandatory orientation with the teacher (first meeting with the teacher) progress.
